Mayra is an architecture student at the Faculty of Architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she is currently part of the Special Thesis Seminar Intersticios 9 (SETI 9), developing a project focused on water regeneration in Mexico City. During her academic studies, she completed an exchange program at ETSAM, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), where she had the opportunity to collaborate with Unidad Ribot and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. She also completed her social service at LIGA DF, expanding her perspective on design and graphic expression.
She has participated in academic initiatives focused on sustainable architecture and urban development, including the international program Summer School ARS22: Concepts for Climate Resilient and Climate Neutral Cities at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik. Her achievements include third place in the 18th DIMUEBLE Competition with the collaborative project Silla Julia, later exhibited at Expo Mueble Internacional 2025 in Guadalajara, Mexico, as well as the publication of her collaborative project Conjunto Tachi in the 2022 UNAM Faculty of Architecture Yearbook, recognized for its accessible design approach. These experiences reflect her commitment to creative exploration and interdisciplinary work.
She currently serves as a Communication Intern at AMA, where she is responsible for communicating the ideas, processes, and human dimension behind the studio’s projects. Her role includes planning and producing content for social media and the website, preparing graphic and written materials for both digital and physical platforms, and submitting projects to competitions and awards aligned with the studio’s vision.
Inspired by architects such as Antoni Gaudí and studios like Husos Architects, as well as spaces such as Studio Galleria Romanelli and Casa Milà, Mayra seeks to design from a position of difference, balancing creativity with analytical thinking, much like her preferred material: blown glass. This approach aligns with her interests in research, reading, everyday life, analog photography, graphic design, and data analysis.
DREAMS ARE BUILT.
WE DO NOT DESIGN SPACES. WE BUILD NARRATIVES.
EVERY PROJECT IS BORN FROM A VISION, STRUCTURED WITH INTENTION, SUPPORTED BY SOLIDITY, AND PROJECTED WITH AUTHORSHIP.
DREAMS ARE BUILT.
