María is an architect who graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she completed her degree through the Housing Laboratory Thesis Seminar. Her academic background is complemented by specialized programs in sustainable design and construction, including the International Diploma in Methods, Procedures, and Regulations for Sustainable Building Certification, a Revit BIM course at CICE, a diploma in Sustainable Design and Construction, and a diploma in Energy-Efficient Building and Adaptive Comfort. She also completed the Net Zero Latitud 0° Seminar in 2022.

She has contributed to notable projects such as TANA, a finalist in Architectural Digest’s Íconos del Diseño and nominated for Building of the Year 2024 by ArchDaily, as well as Canadian School, winner of the Unbuilt Institutional 2025 category by Architizer and currently nominated for the World Architecture Festival 2025. Throughout her professional trajectory, she has worked at firms such as RA! Arquitectos, Hernández de la Garza, and Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos.

She currently works as an Architect at AMA, where she is responsible for the development of construction drawings containing the technical information required to materialize projects across different disciplines. Her work ensures that urban-scale architecture projects are accurately translated into buildable solutions across the different stages of each project.

Guided by functionality, María finds inspiration in architects such as Ricardo Bofill, in spaces like Casa Xavier Corberó, and in elements such as light, which she considers intangible yet essential. For her, light reveals materiality, defines proportions, and shapes spatial experience, allowing a single space to be perceived in entirely different ways. Beyond architecture, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, walking through the city, listening to music, photography, cooking, and fashion, continuously finding connections between these interests and her design approach.
