WHAT IF?

What if soul and space moved as one?

Marisol Flores

Narrative Design Lead, Communication Lead

Marisol was born in 1991 in Mexico City. She is an architect who graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she received the Social Service Excellence Prize in 2014. During her academic studies, she completed an exchange program at UCEN in Santiago, Chile. In 2015, she completed a postgraduate diploma in Creative Direction and Branding at Centro.

She began her professional career in 2016 at Alvarez Tello. In 2017, she joined Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, where she worked for six years and founded and led the first Creative and Narrative Management department. She has delivered lectures at Tecnológico de Monterrey, CONEA México, Radio Arquitectura, and ASINEA. In 2017, she participated in the Chicago Biennial “NOT Another Tower.” In 2023, she developed graphic material for the exhibition Transformación Urbana by Sordo Madaleno, and in 2024, she participated in Otros Entregables with the theme Exploring Diverse Profiles in Architecture.

Since 2018, she has participated in competitions in the Middle East such as Al Ain City Mall (2018), Red Sea Project (2019), NEOM (2022), and EMAAR Egypt (2023), as well as in hospitality projects for brands such as Soho House, Hyatt, and Waldorf Astoria. She has conceptually developed projects such as Campus Atlas, Waldorf Astoria San Miguel, Soho House projects in Los Cabos, Mexico City, and Madrid, and Distrito Perseverancia in Paraguay.

As one of the pioneers of AMA, she has focused on building a conscious narrative and communication strategy, both internally and externally, aligning the different agents involved in projects and the studio’s daily dynamics toward shared objectives. She coordinates, in an efficient, coherent, and empathetic manner, the deliverables of the conceptual, narrative, and communication teams, ensuring that each member feels part of a shared purpose.

Interested in volleyball, hand drawing, narrative coherence, and architectural theory, she finds inspiration in listening to the dreams of others and recognizing their potential. She considers Narinder Sagoo a personal reference and defines her approach to design through the idea of coherence, resonating with her choice of material—earth—and her dream city, Copenhagen.
